Recently, ​​Chengdu Image Design Technology​​ launched its ​​new Black Light Full-Color 4MP Image Sensor—MIS40H1​​. Built on the company’s proprietary ​​"BSI+" technology platform​​ and ​​"ApexPixel®" pixel technology​​, the sensor integrates fully self-developed core technologies such as ​​FDTI​​, ​​ImgAOV™​​, and ​​PixHDR™​​. It delivers ​​high sensitivity​​, ​​high dynamic range (HDR)​​, ​​high-temperature imaging stability​​, and ​​low power consumption​​, while supporting ​​Always-On Video (AOV)​​ functionality. These advancements enable ​​real-time, stable full-color imaging across all scenarios​​, meeting the stringent requirements of ​​ultra-low-light security systems​​ and ​​AIoT low-power (AOV) applications​​.

High Dynamic Range (HDR), High Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), and High Sensitivity

The ​​MIS40H1​​ excels with ​​high dynamic range (HDR)​​, ​​high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)​​, and ​​outstanding sensitivity​​, achieving a remarkable sensitivity of ​​11.7 V/lux·s​​. Even in ultra-low-light environments as dim as ​​0.01 lux​​, the MIS40H1 efficiently captures faint light signals. Combined with a ​​43.5 dB SNR​​ for deep noise suppression, it significantly enhances image purity in low-light conditions, delivering clear and detailed visuals. Additionally, its ​​120dB dynamic range​​ ensures accurate reproduction of both shadow and highlight details in high-contrast scenarios (e.g., backlighting or intense light gradients). Leveraging ​​multi- synthesis technology​​, the MIS40H1 rapidly performs ​​multi-exposure capture and image fusion​​ in complex lighting environments, precisely restoring intricate details.

​​Image Preprocessing Functions

The MIS40H1 features built-in Fast AE/AWB, dark current correction, sunspot removal, and defective pixel correction to significantly enhance image quality. Its Fast AE/AWB function enables rapid exposure time and color balance adjustments under various lighting conditions, ensuring sharp images with accurate colors for an exceptional image capture experience.

Supports AOV functionality

The MIS40H1 integrates AOV functionality combined with Fast AE technology to achieve the perfect balance between ultra-low power consumption and fast response. The sensor's standby power consumption is only 1.08mW, while operating power consumption in 30fps linear mode is just 135mW. Through Fast AE's intelligent exposure control, the MIS40H1 achieves an average AOV power consumption as low as 5.83mW in 90fps high rate mode, significantly improving dynamic scene fluidity and energy efficiency. The AOV function enables the sensor to synchronize with the main control chip during system startup, dramatically reducing the time from startup to stable image output and ensuring rapid device response. In long-exposure or low-power scenarios, AOV allows the main control chip to enter sleep mode while the sensor autonomously completes exposure via Fast AE and wakes the main control as needed to receive data, substantially reducing system power consumption, extending device battery life, further enhancing image quality and energy efficiency, thereby enabling 24/7 full real-time video recording.

NIR-enhanced technology significantly improves night vision clarity

The MIS40H1 delivers outstanding near-infrared performance with high sensitivity and broad spectral response. It achieves quantum efficiency (QE) of 44% at 850nm and 25% at 940nm, enabling clear and detailed image capture in complete darkness. Furthermore, its spectral response covers both visible and near-infrared bands, ensuring seamless day-night transition with excellent image consistency.
