New 2MP high sensitivity Fast AE/AWB image sensor - MIS20S1

Recently, Chengdu Image Design launched a new 2MP security monitoring class, consumer video products, 1080P60 video application new product - MIS20S1. d on Chengdu Image Design "BSI+™" technology platform and "ApexPixel®" pixel technology, equipped with FDTI™, ImgAOV™, PixHDR™ and other fully independent core technologies, with high sensitivity, high dynamic range, high temperature imaging, low power consumption and other advantages. It also supports full real-time video recording (AOV) for true and stable full-color imaging performance, meeting the demanding needs of black light security and smart IoT applications.

High dynamic range and high signal-to-noise ratio

The MIS20S1 has a dynamic range of 103dB, which enables it to perform well in a variety of complex lighting environments. It can clearly capture the details of the light and dark parts, avoid the loss of information in too bright or too dark areas, and make the whole picture more rich. At the same time, the maximum signal-to-noise ratio of 43.3dB ensures the purity of the image and effectively reduces the influence of noise on the image quality.

Image preprocessing function

The MIS20S1's built-in Fast AE/AWB, dark current correction, sunspot removal, and on-chip DPC features improve image quality. These features not only quickly adjust exposure and white balance to different lighting conditions, but also ensure image stability and quality, keeping the image natural and realistic even in extreme light conditions. AOV technology and intelligent control

The MIS20S1 integrates both AOV and LED CTRL functions. The AOV function can make the Sensor work synchronously with the main control when the system starts, and reduce the time for the main control to wait for the CIS start to the stable drawing. In the application scenario of long exposure time, it supports complete sleep of the main control, and wakes up the main control on time to receive data after the Sensor self-exposure, thus greatly reducing the waiting power consumption of the system. At the same time, the on-chip AE and AWB ensure that each is adapted to the current light conditions, avoiding the problem of abnormal images caused by light changes that are difficult to solve by conventional solutions. In addition, the LED CTRL function is specifically used to solve the inconsistent exposure time of the LED light and the Sensor, by precisely controlling the triggered timing and duration of the LED light, so that it is synchronized with the exposure cycle of the Sensor, to ensure uniform lighting of the entire image area. LED CTRL control helps to reduce energy consumption, reduce the LED light on time, thereby extending the use of the device.

NIR enhancement improves night vision clarity

The NIR enhancement significantly improves the sensitivity of the image sensor in the near infrared spectrum, ensuring that the image can still maintain high clarity and rich detail in low visible light environments such as night vision monitoring and biometrics. The combination of these features of the MIS20S1 provides users with a versatile and efficient imaging solution, especially in intelligent monitoring systems that require fast recognition and response, ensuring clear images are captured in low-light environments, providing users with a smarter and more reliable imaging experience.

The MIS20S1 image sensor is designed with energy efficiency ratio in mind, and its power consumption performance is particularly good. In linear mode at 30fps, power consumption is only 78.92mW, while in AOV mode at 1fps, power consumption is as low as 4.7mW. This low power feature not only helps to extend the battery life of the device, but also dynamically adjusts the power consumption according to the working demand. This feature enables the MIS20S1 to provide stable and durable image capture in a variety of application scenarios while maintaining low power consumption.
