June 23, 2025 — Liang Xinxin, Director General of the Strategic Planning Department of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), accompanied by Zhao Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, conducted a special research visit to Chengdu Image Design Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Image Design"). The visit aimed to gain in-depth understanding of the company's practices and insights in strengthening its role as an innovation leader, enhancing intellectual property capabilities, building a modern industrial system, and cultivating new quality productive forces. These findings will provide important references for formulating the national 15th Five-Year Plan for intellectual property development. Work Report: Solid Foundations, Remarkable Achievements
In his report, President Wang highlighted Image Design's systematic strategy and outstanding achievements in intellectual property (IP). The company has consistently prioritized IP protection as a core strategy, making sustained investments to build robust technological barriers. As of June 2024, the company has filed 869 IP applications, with 633 granted. It has also actively expanded its global IP portfolio, holding 21 international patent applications and 13 valid U.S. patents. These patents comprehensively cover CMOS image sensor technologies, including algorithms, analog circuits, digital circuits, packaging and testing, and pixel design—with distinctive advantages in critical areas such as readout circuits and image enhancement. Additionally, Image Design has secured 139 integrated circuit layout design rights, establishing a comprehensive IP protection network that effectively safeguards its technological innovations and ensures close integration with manufacturing applications. In advancing industry progress, the company has taken a leading role in developing two national standards, significantly elevating overall industry capabilities and maximizing the value of its IP assets. Throughout its steady growth, the economic contributions of Image Design's IP portfolio have become increasingly prominent.

During the research visit, Director General Liang Xinxin and other leaders attentively listened to President Wang's detailed report on the company's development history, core business, technological innovation, and intellectual property strategy. The two parties held in-depth discussions on key topics aligned with the 15th Five-Year Intellectual Property Plan, focusing on how to further strengthen enterprises' leading role in technological innovation, optimize the intellectual property creation, protection, application, management and service system, and leverage intellectual property to drive industrial upgrading and foster new quality productive forces.
